The Fund grant screening committee approved funding for the following grants:
Safety Parent Coordinator
Approved funding to support a safety parent coordinator position at Monroe Clark Middle School. The safety parent coordinator will work closely with parents, police, and the school to improve safety on and around campus though community problem-solving efforts. The goal is to increase awareness and parent engagement to reduce truancy and crime around school property. The coordinator will work closely with the Monroe Clark Parent Center and community residents involved in the Price Charities’ sponsored Safety Initiative.
Special Delivery San Diego
Approved a grant to support Special Delivery San Diego’s efforts to improve the nutritional status and quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses. Special Delivery San Diego prepares, packages, and delivers specially prepared meals and groceries to about 600 clients annually.
Union of Pan Asian Communities (UPAC)
Approved a general support grant to UPAC. UPAC provides services related to health education, affordable housing, drug treatment, youth leadership, and self sufficiency in San Diego County and City Heights.
City Heights Community Development Corps (CHCDC)
Approved a grant to support CHCDC’s 30th Anniversary Dinner to honor the heroes of City Heights.
