Price Philanthropies endowed the San Diego Zoo’s Watershed Heroes Program to inspire students at Title 1 schools (schools with high concentration of low-income students) in San Diego County to become heroes for wildlife and water conservation.

The Watershed Heroes Program includes an all-school assembly, classroom visits and a field trip to the Price Education Center at the San Diego Zoo for fourth grade students.

Students discover what a watershed is and how their daily actions affect the health of watersheds. They are encouraged to become stewards of their local watershed by participating in experiential activities.  The program serves at least 65 schools each year.
